About Professor Dr. Nasir Uddin
Prof. Dr. Nasir Uddin Obtained Master of Surgery in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery degree from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2010. He completed Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course from Dhaka Dental College in 1985. Obtaining the Fellowship award from Japan Dental Association in 1990 he got admission in Advanced Surgical Study Program in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Osaka University, Japan and awarded Diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The Advanced Surgical Study Program was designed for clinical training in benign and malignant tumour of facial region, maxillofacial trauma, maxillofacial reconstruction, cleft lip and palate, surgical orthodontics.
After completion of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Examination he joined in Government service in 1995 and worked as a Dental Surgeon at Upazilla Health Complex, Murad Nagar, Comilla and Upazilla Health Complex, Doulatpur, Manikganj. He joined as a lecturer in the Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery , Dhaka Dental College and Hospital in1999. In 2010 he obtained Master of Surgery degree (University of Dhaka) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

He worked as a Department -in-Charge, Dental Department, Dhaka Medical College Hospital from March 2010 to Sept. 2010. During this period he took initiative to develop Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. For his diligent endeavour Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery consisting of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professors has been approved by Government and instituted in Dhaka Medical College.
In Sept. 2010, he joined as an Assistant Professor (CC) in the Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dhaka Dental College and Hospital. He got promotion as Asst. Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Regular) by Departmental Promotion Committee, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in May 2013. He was promoted as Associate Professor (CC) in October 2015. In September 2017, he was promoted as Associate Professor (regular) and was posted in the same Department.
May 2019, he was promoted as professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery and posted in Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College. He is now head of the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, Dhaka.
He had training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2012, 2013 and 2014 from the Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto, Canada. His training in Distraction Osteogenesis from India under renowned maxillofacial surgeon Prof. Dr. Asish Kumar Ghosh, gave him opportunity to be the pioneer of instituting mandibular lengthening surgery in Bangladesh.
Prof. Dr. Nasir Uddin obtained Modus Award 2004 at Asian Congress on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Tokyo, Japan for his contribution and presentation on Correction of Unilateral Cleft lip Nasal Deformity.
