Professor Dr. Md. Salahuddin Shah
Professor Dr. Md. Salahuddin Shah is a renowned hematologist in Bangladesh. He is working as a chairman in the Department of Haematology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) which is the 1st public medical university in Bangladesh. He successfully did the first Bone Marrow Transplantation at BSMMU as one of the Key Person in BMT team. He is a best Haematologist in Bangladesh.
Dr. Shah obtained his MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College (MMC) in 1991. After completing his MBBS Degree, he worked at multiple healthcare institutions including NFH, WMCH, SZMC, DMC, NICRH, MMC, BSMMU.
He obtained his FCPS (Haematology) in 2004 and his MCPS (Clinical Pathology) in 2000 from `Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons’ located at Mohakhali, Dhaka Bangladesh.
He obtained his DCP (Diploma in Clinical Pathology) from `Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University’ in 1999.
He has completed IHTC Fellowship Training in Coagulation disorders with an emphasis on Haemophilia, from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA, in 2010.
He has completed Fellowship Training in Haematology & Stell Cell/ Bone Marrow Transplantation from Princess Alexandra Hospital & Royal Brisbane Hospital, Brisbane, Australia in 2013.
He has completed ASH VTP (American Society of Hematology Visitor Training Program) on Flow cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, Molecular Methodologies & Clinical Management related to BMT & Haematological Disorders from Saint Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri, USA in 2019.
He has founded a Foundation named LAB ONE FOUNDATION located at Dhaka, Bangladesh for helpless & poor patients to give better health facilities. He is working for raising awareness about blood disorders like Thalassaemia, Haemophilia, Blood Cancer & others for prevention and treatment. He also motivates general people for voluntary blood donation through Lab One Foundation. He is known to all as a best haematologist in Bangladesh.
He is working for social development with Uttara Sector-03 Kalyan Samity and in his birthplace, Chirirbandar, Dinajpur, Bangladesh.
He is also working as an Assistant Governor, Rotary International District 3281, Bangladesh. In addition, he is working as a chair in the District Thalassaemia Committee of International District 3281 for awareness & prevention of Thalassaemia.
